Welcome to My Site

Lisa O’Gorman-Hofsommer grew up in Yonkers N.Y. and moved to the Hudson Valley in 1990. She always enjoyed painting but it was a back injury several years later that would enable her to explore her creative side fully, discovering that painting had the ability to help her tolerate the injuries by rehabilitating her mentally and spiritually. Inspired by nature, she came upon an idea for a ceramic birdhouse that is truly unique and original as well as her many leaf dishes. Lisa’s love of nature exceeds the edges of her canvas and takes over her home life as well, where she grows gourds to create birdhouses and animal critters.

Recently, the artist has been taking instruction working with yet another medium, oils, at the Wallkill River School of which she is a represented artist and member for several years. With a strong connection to nature, Lisa finds herself painting landscapes, wildlife and even pets! Look for new things to come from this self taught artist as she continues to expand herself creatively. For more information on the artist and animal portraitse mail her at msleo4@hotmail.com.
